Wedding Ceremony Cape Verde Islands

Our marriage blessing and renewal of vows services include 'Simplicity Packages', or organising a 'Family and Friends' wedding ceremony.

As of October 2022, our 'Family and Friends' service will be delivered by our service partners.

Intro to Cape Verde Weddings

As a result of helping with a marriage ceremony for one couple in 2008 and realisng there was further interest in wedding services on Sal Island, I decided that I would make enquiries at the Notory about legal marriages in Cape Verde for foreigners. During my enquiries I realised that there were certain processes that couples needed to follow in person in advance of arriving in Cape Verde and other processes to comply with in Cape Verde. It seemed more complicated than I'd expected and, for that reason it was decided that my services would solely concentrate on offering non-legal symbolic marriage blessings which could be booked by couples in advance with us, prior to arrivng on Sal Island, Cape Verde.

Our symbolic wedding services continued until early in 2020, when as the result of the pandemic, our services ceased. During covid in 2021, we moved out of a state calamity to a state of contingency, which remained until the later part of 2021. From November 2021 we started to receive enquiries for the 'Family and Friends' wedding ceremonies for 2022 and 2023. After committing myself to two of these it was decided that due to a change in circumstances, no further 'Family and Friends' ceremonies would be accepted and organsed by myself. However, the good news is, that we have now worked with a service partner who, will deliver the 'Family and Friends' service. At the same time, we decided we would continue with the delivery of our smaller 'Simplicity Ceremonies' on Sal.

Marriage Blessings and Symbolic ceremonies

The choice of island for beach ceremonies for tourists in Cape Verde is currently mainly offered on the island of Sal. However, I have recieved some enquiries asking if similar services are provided on the island of Boa Vista. At this time and, as far as I am aware, there isn't anyone offering a similar service to Cape Verde Weddings, on the island of Boa Vista.

NOTE: The sliding images at the top of this page are some of the marriage blessing ceremonies I'd arranged in previous years at venues in Santa Maria for couples having the 'Family and Friends' ceremony. Venue options for this type of ceremony may change in the near future.

A Place in the Sun

In January 2017 one couple from the UK were looking for property on Sal Island and, to help them along with this were the team from 'A Place in the Sun' with TV presenter Jasmine Harman. I was fortunate to be asked to appear on the show and met up with the couple Lynn and Brett shortly before filming commenced. During the interview, I was asked a few questions about Santa Maria, which I tried to answer truthfully and, without sounding and looking like a nervous wreck.
